Center for Energy Education Hosts Ceremony for EDF Renewable Scholarship Recipients

Roanoke Rapids, NC —The Center for Energy Education (C4EE) hosted a ceremony on June 8, 2022, where three local high school students received scholarships provided by EDF Renewables. Each student submitted an essay at the EDF Renewables booth during the Career Fair hosted by the Center on May 12, 2022.  The students were selected based on essays submitted by over 50 students.  Amanda Mack, EDF Renewables Project Development Team, presented the students with their scholarship awards.  She also extended an invitation to mentor all three students.

The recipients of the scholarships were Deshaun Snow from Northwest Collegiate and Technical Academy, Gabriel Roberts from Roanoke Rapids Early College, and Ladajah Joyner from Bertie Early College. The students’ career aspirations include entrepreneurship, forestry, and land surveillance.
