SUMMARY:The Basics of Geothermal Energy: Tapping Into Earth’s Natural Energy
DESCRIPTION:The Basics of Geothermal Energy: Tapping Into Earth’s Natural Energy\nDiscover how the Earth’s natural heat can be harnessed for heating\, cooling\, and electricity generation during a free educational webinar hosted by the Center for Energy Education (C4EE). \nJoin us on Tuesday\, December 1\, 2026\, from 2:00–3:00 PM EST for an introduction to geothermal energy\, its practical applications\, and its potential to support energy efficiency\, economic development\, and communities. \nAbout the Webinar\nGeothermal energy uses heat from beneath the Earth’s surface to provide heating\, cooling\, and\, in suitable locations\, generate electricity. As communities explore diverse energy resources\, geothermal technologies offer opportunities to improve energy efficiency and support evolving energy needs. \nThis webinar will introduce the fundamentals of geothermal energy\, explain the differences between geothermal heat pumps and electricity generation\, and examine potential energy cost benefits and workforce opportunities. \nWebinar Topics\nParticipants will learn about: \n\nGeothermal Energy Fundamentals: How geothermal energy works and its practical applications.\nGeothermal Heat Pumps and Electricity Generation: Understanding the differences between these technologies.\nHeating\, Cooling\, and Energy Costs: Exploring geothermal applications and potential cost benefits.\nWorkforce and Economic Development: Opportunities associated with geothermal energy technologies.\nCommunity Considerations: How geothermal energy can complement other renewable energy resources.\n\nFeatured Speaker: Dr. Diana Gragg\nDr. Diana Gragg is the Managing Director of the Explore Energy Program at Stanford University’s Precourt Institute for Energy and a Core Lecturer in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. \nShe will share insights into geothermal energy technologies\, their applications\, and their potential role in the evolving energy landscape. \nEvent Details\n\nDate: Tuesday\, December 1\, 2026\nTime: 2:00–3:00 PM EST\nLocation: Virtual Webinar\nCost: Free\nRegistration: https://bit.ly/bcGEO\n\nRegister Today\nWhether you’re a student\, educator\, energy professional\, or community member interested in renewable energy\, this webinar offers an opportunity to learn more about geothermal energy and its potential applications. \nRegister for the Free Webinar \nFor more information\, contact the Center for Energy Education at 252-541-3004 or contact@center4ee.org.
