Batteries 101: From Charge to Grid

Understanding Batteries, Storage & the Future of Energy

Batteries play an increasingly important role in how we store, manage, and use electricity. As renewable energy technologies continue to expand, understanding battery storage systems is essential to understanding the future of energy.

Join the Center for Energy Education (C4EE) for Batteries 101: From Charge to Grid, a live educational webinar exploring the fundamentals of battery technology, energy storage, and the role batteries play in modern energy systems.

Led by Dr. Anthony Bombik, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, this webinar will introduce participants to the different types of batteries, how battery energy storage works, and how batteries can support solar energy systems. The discussion will also address battery safety, environmental and community impacts, and common misconceptions about battery technology.

Webinar Topics

  • Battery basics and different battery types
  • Understanding battery energy storage
  • The need for energy storage
  • How batteries work with solar energy
  • Battery safety considerations
  • Environmental and community impacts
  • Common battery myths versus facts
