Course Description: This workshop prepares entry-level candidates for employment as photovoltaic installers. The Center for Energy Education (C4EE) offers a “Solar Construction 101” Course. The Solar Construction 101 Course is a component of the 3-Day Utility Scale Solar Workshop offered at C4EE. This course prepares entry-level candidates for employment as solar photovoltaic installers. Topics covered in this course include: an overview of solar energy and photovoltaic utility scale solar equipment, racking, mounting, wiring, small tool usage and measurements. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to assemble a solar array model during the course.
The second component of the 3-Day Utility Scale Solar Workshop is the OSHA 10 Training. This course is a classroom course that leads to a nationally recognized certificate. OSHA 10 training prepares entry-level candidates for employment in the solar industry. Topics covered in this course include: construction and industry hazards, power tool hazards and personal protective equipment. The OSHA 10 Training can also be offered as a standalone training.
